MID250 Volvo FH SWM Steering Wheel Module Fault Codes

MID 250 PPID 142

Parameter:

The status of the buttons on the steering wheel

Fault:

FMI 2   The fault code is registered only if the codes are active.   PSID 17 ,   PSID 18 ,   SID 231 ,   SID 251 ,   SID 254   and disappears after troubleshooting these codes.

MID 250 SID 231

Parameter:

SAE J1939 data feed

Fault:

FMI 2   The SWM block registers a failure of the SAE J1939 data channel. Shorting the data channel wires to power or ground.

MID 250 SID 251

Parameter:

SWM power supply

Fault:

FMI 3   The power supply voltage of the SWM unit exceeds 36 V. for more than 5 seconds. Faulty generator or engine started from an external power source.

FMI 4   The power supply voltage of the SWM unit is below 9 V. for more than 5 seconds. An open circuit or short to ground.

Parameter:

SWM block

Fault:

FMI 12   SWM block defective.

MID 250 PSID 1

Parameter:

“YES” button on the steering wheel

Fault:

FMI 12   The button is pressed for more than one minute or the button is faulty.

MID 250 PSID 2

Parameter:

“NO” button on the steering wheel

Fault:

FMI 12   The button is pressed for more than one minute or the button is faulty.

MID 250 PSID 3

Parameter:

Left arrow button on the steering wheel

Fault:

FMI 12   The button is pressed for more than one minute or the button is faulty.

MID 250 PSID 4

Parameter:

Right Arrow Button on Steering Wheel

Fault:

FMI 12   The button is pressed for more than one minute or the button is faulty.

MID 250 PSID 5

Parameter:

Steering wheel plus button

Fault:

FMI 12   The button is pressed for more than one minute or the button is faulty.

MID 250 PSID 6

Parameter:

The minus button on the steering wheel

Fault:

FMI 12   The button is pressed for more than one minute or the button is faulty.

MID 250 PSID 17

Parameter:

Power supply of the “YES, NO, plus, minus” buttons on the steering wheel

Fault:

FMI 3   The voltage at the output of the SWM block on the block of buttons above 14 V. more than 5 seconds. A short to a higher voltage of the wires between the SWM block and the button block.

FMI 4   The voltage at the output of the SWM block on the button block is below 7 V. for more than 5 seconds. Broken wire between the SWM unit and the button unit.

FMI 5   Broken wire between the SWM unit and the button unit.

FMI 6   The voltage at the output of the SWM block on the button block is less than 1 V for more than 5 seconds. A short to ground between the SWM block and the button block.

MID 250 PSID 18

Parameter:

Data channel block buttons “YES, NO, plus, minus” on the steering wheel

Fault:

FMI 2   The SWM block does not receive the signal from the button block for more than 30 seconds, or the signal received from the button block is unreliable. Breakage or partial damage to the data channel wiring between the SWM block and the button block.
