Peterbilt’s new Peterbilt 389 model went into mass production in 2007. When the manufacture of the popular Peterbilt 379 truck ceased, it was replaced with this truck tractor. This tractor was superseded by the Peterbilt 389. The novelty’s exterior is based on the design of American trucks, and this design element has been preserved in full. The chrome components are highlighted in the magnificent appearance of the bonneted cab. Visibility modifications, bumpers, and other bodywork modifications were made. When compared to its predecessor, the new Peterbilt 389 has upgraded technological specifications. The cab of the Peterbilt 389 is relatively roomy, and it has a complete sleeper, as is customary for trucks built in North America.
The “driver” of the Peterbilt 389 is a Cummins ISX 15 series engine producing 15 horsepower. The Peterbilt 389 sets the bar high for its category thanks to its high performance and well-selected mechanical transmission ratios. In addition, the Peterbilt 389 has a braking system with 4 or 6 channels of the anti-lock braking system (ABS), and it may be had with a manual, automated, or automatic gearbox with 4 to 11 speeds.
