The firm was founded in the late 1800s as a merger of two Stockholm-based industrial firms.
Organization: Atlas AB Organizations like Atlas and Nya AB
In 1873, André Oskar Wallenberg served as chairman and Edward Frenkel as managing director of the newly created Aktiebolaget Atlas. The business established facilities in the present-day Atlas and Vasastaden, Stockholm, and the Södertülje neighborhoods. Stockholm’s workshops were conveniently located adjacent to the main structure, and they’ve been producing cannon fire, steam engines, ignition engines, compressors, locomotives, and other railway components since the railway’s inception. You acquired Brianzavret in Jeva in the 1880s.
The 1980s saw the corporation through a period of economic difficulty and reconstruction. Nya AB Atlas is the new firm’s official name. Producing compressed air was a major industry in the early 20th century. Nails and chisels were among the earliest manufactured goods. Different kinds of well-drilling machinery were introduced in the 1910s and 1920s.
Manufacturers AB Diesel Motors and Atlas Diesel AB
After purchasing the rights to produce Rudolf Diesel’s diesel engine design, Mark Wallenberg launched what would become Diesels Motors in 1898.
The firm bought two big parcels of land in the western section of Nakka Municipality at Sakkla in 1898. Houses in the area that is now Tallbacken were functional before the nearby factory was constructed. In 1899, the company started sending out the first engines. Although production was low to begin with, much research and design went into the final product. In 1907, the company’s principal engineer, Jonas Hesselmann, developed a method to mass-produce a reversible diesel engine that could be used to power ships.
Atlas Motor Company and Diesel Motor Company merged in 1917 to establish Atlas Diesel. In 1927, the firm put all of its resources into its Sikla workshops while constructing housing near its Vasastaden facility. Simultaneously, various new structures, including the “airline,” went constructed in Sika. As a result, the company expanded in the years that followed.
