Volvo loader manuals PDF
The company has been making wheel loaders since 1954 when Bolinder Munktell launched a machine called the H10. This tractor-based model was equipped with a 35 hp three-cylinder diesel engine and a five-speed manual transmission. The new technology’s success contributed to this area’s development in Volvo’s activities and the introduction of a series of technical developments. So, starting in the 1970s, the company began producing large articulated wheel loaders.
Since 1973, products have been manufactured under the Volvo BM brand. In the same year, the first loader (LM 1641) with a turbocharged diesel engine and direct fuel injection was produced. In 1981, an automatic transmission appeared.
Historic brands that contributed to the development of Volvo wheel loaders also included Clark Michigan, Zettelmeyer, Pel-Job, and Samsung.
Today, Volvo Construction Equipment is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of wheel loaders in compact and mid-sized models.
All Volvo front loaders are equipped with 4-cylinder Volvo low-emission diesel engines.
The operating weight of mini-loaders is 4.3-8.6 tons, and the bucket capacity is 0.65-2 cubic meters. Similar characteristics for medium-sized loaders are 11-56 tons and 1.7-12.7 cubic meters, respectively.
Volvo compact loaders have three types of boom design – parallel, Z-type, and TP, which is the company’s design. TR is typical for all medium-size loaders. This lifting mechanism has a high parallel action and breakout force.
The list of attachments these loaders can be equipped with is very wide – 4-in-1 bucket, fork grab, crane boom, mechanical brush, transfer bucket, and side dump bucket. This makes Volvo compact wheel loaders suitable for general material handling, waste recycling, landscaping, construction, and earthworks. In addition, Volvo wheel loaders are designed for digging, moving, and loading quarrying, construction, recycling, blocking, and bulk materials.
Models in the L line include all the traditional technologies. With each new serial number, comfort improves, new functional features are added, and systems responsible for economy and performance are upgraded. As a result, Volvo L220, Volvo L120, and Volvo L180 can be singled out among models that fully comply with the technical specifications and an appropriate price category.
Volvo L220
The Volvo 220 front loader is considered one of the most popular in its class. This is a fairly large piece of equipment with a total weight of 31 tons and a carrying capacity of 10.8 tons. The loader is equipped with a 6-cylinder engine of 12.8 liters. Fuel consumption in working conditions is 18.5 l/h.
This model is designed based on a frame consisting of two movably connected components. The entire load is evenly distributed on the bridge. This provides high stability and maneuverability. High operating speeds are made possible by the extended wheelbase. This model is distinguished by the use of very extensive buckets, which increases productivity several times.
The comfort of the driver’s cab is on par with safety. It is possible to change the control system, which allows the operator to work for a long time, changing the muscle load. Noise and vibration isolation, air conditioning, ventilation, and heating of the cabin enable the operator to work without distraction from external factors.
Volvo L120
The Volvo 120 loader was designed with technologies that improve comfort and productivity. The operating weight of this model is slightly more than 18 tons, and the static load at full turn exceeds 12 tons. In addition, the Volvo 120 has technical innovations such as Z-bar linkage and self-adjusting hydraulics under load.
Volvo L180
The Volvo 180 front loader with an operating weight of 35 to 38 tons combines power and maneuverability. It productively copes with different materials, ranging from solid overall cargo to bulk. This loader can be equipped with a clamshell grapple, without which no forestry can do. The new H-series models use Volvo’s unique High-Lift technology.
