Established in 1859, the Gehl firm (USA) is a manufacturer of agricultural and industrial gear. One of the most prominent manufacturers of farm machinery in the world today. Nearly every kind of machine may be found there, with the exception of tractors. The company’s facilities also manufacture a wide variety of construction equipment, including excavators, wheel and tracked loaders, and the industry standard in skid steer loaders, the Gehl brand.

The firm has been a major player in the global skid steer loader market for approximately 35 years. Its multipurpose vehicles have engines producing anything from 21 to 99 horsepower and can haul anything from 450 to 1500 kg. The customer may choose the machine that best suits his needs thanks to the variety of control options available.
The Gehl mini loaders made in the USA include extra-convenient access to the cab with outside railings. The ceiling of the cab is high enough to accommodate even the tallest operators. A latticed hole in the cab’s ceiling provides ventilation and a bird’s-eye view of the extended boom. In the event of an emergency, you may escape via the back window of the taxi. Sash windows line the cab door, and the whole vehicle is protected from outside noise.
The driver’s seat may be easily adjusted to accommodate drivers of varying heights and builds. A sophisticated sensor-type safety device prevents the bucket from being lifted or moved while the door is open. When driving at night or after sunset, the lights—which include front and rear reversing lights—are a lifesaver.
All Gehl skid steer loaders come standard with a hydraulic lifting system and an automatic leveling bucket. The HYDRALOC safety system, installed on all of the machines, provides four layers of defense against the unintended lowering of the bucket, the unintentional beginning of the movement, and the unintentional beginning of lifting operations. The machine’s steadiness and cargo capacity have both been enhanced by lengthening the wheelbase. Most machines are operated by two T-shaped levers, at which point the majority of the operator’s attention is focused in order to perform tasks involving the lifting apparatus and machine control.
The GEHL 5640 SXT skid steer loader is one of the most adaptable types. The machine itself weighs 3348 kilograms, its loading height is 3124 millimeters, and its maximum load capacity is 1000 kilograms. It has a Japanese Yanmar 61 kW engine, which gives it a lot of power for its size. Brushes for roadwork, forks, buckets, and blades for a wide range of applications, hydraulic hammers, and excavation gear, drilling rigs, and grabs for unconventional loads are just some of the supplementary attachments that may be added to the Gehl universal small loader.
The machine’s regular bucket has a capacity of 0.54 m3. The loader has an overall length of 2057mm, a width of 3327mm, a height of 1730mm, and a length of 1080mm in the wheelbase. Loaders may have either diesel or gas-powered engine modifications fitted.
The American manufacturer’s Gehl SL 4640 compact loader is a top seller. In terms of its technological specs, it:

This model’s compact loader is distinguished by its low diesel consumption thanks to its environmentally friendly DEUTZ engines. In this design, all parts and assemblies are laid out in a manner that makes them easily accessible. Because of the high gain of steering, operating the machine is a breeze. The machine’s security is improved with an oil brake system that needs no maintenance for its entire working life. The loader’s size and robust hydraulics allow for a 2064-kilogram breakout force. The top speed is limited to 20 km/h, and the engine produces 63 horsepower.
A greater unloading height of 3124 mm is available on the Gehl SL 5640 compact loader. Standard 0.54 m3 bucket with a maximum load of 1135 kg. The breakout force is 2676 kg, made possible by hydraulics. A powerful 82-horsepower diesel engine manufactured by DEUTZ is installed in it. Its load capacity may be increased with the addition of a counterweight if required. Newer versions have the High-Flow system’s quick-acting hydraulics.
At a maximum height of 2967 mm, the Gehl SL 4840 loader can carry up to 960 kg. The rupturing pressure is more than 2 tons. The universal bucket, which has a basic capacity of 0.43 m3, may be readily swapped out for any of the many other attachments that are structurally compatible with the machine. Because of its high all-terrain capability, the loader may be employed in a variety of settings, including fields and building sites.
A few loaders have a two-speed gearbox and can reach speeds of up to 20 kilometers per hour. For a machine with an operational weight of 2939 tons, the DEUTZ F4M2011 diesel engine’s ability to provide a power of up to 60 hp determines excellent energy saturation while ensuring minimal fuel consumption.
Among comparable equipment, Gehl mini-class loaders have the most models and modifications available, making it easy to choose one with the desired characteristics.
