LiuGong wheel loaders
In 1958, the government of the People’s Republic of China passed a resolution to move the Shanghai Steel Structure Factory to Liuzhou and establish a Construction Machinery Factory there. The company then employed 527 employees.
Today, the company has developed into a large holding, one of the TOP 15 construction equipment manufacturers. In addition, it occupies a leading position in the number of wheel loaders produced.
The first Liugong front loader rolled off the assembly line on October 1, 1966. The release of the first car was timed to coincide with the 17th Anniversary of the founding of the PRC. Model Z435 had an all-metal frame, steerable rear wheels, and mechanical steering. The power of the installed engine reached 135 hp.
The load capacity of the Z 435 loader was 3,500 kg, and the curb weight of the machine was 11 tons. The boom was lifted by two hydraulic cylinders mounted on the sides. Then, two more – lifted and overturned a bucket with a volume of 1.7 m³.
In the middle of 1971, the plant began to produce an articulated wheel loader. The model was first called the Z450, and after the ministerial certification, it was renamed the ZL50.
In the mid-70s, Chinese designers designed the largest ZL90 front loader for that time. The machine, with a carrying capacity of 9 tons, had a bucket volume of 5 m³. A 400 hp diesel engine was used as a power unit.
The rapid development of Chinese engineering marked the beginning of the new millennium. Cooperation with the world’s leading manufacturers was bearing fruit. The technique has also improved. So, in 2001, the ZL100C super-heavy machine was created with a bucket volume of 5.4 m³ and a nominal load capacity of 10 tons.
In 2016, engineering research led to the creation of the first vertical lift front loader. The VL80A model, using know-how, was presented at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017 and aroused great interest among visitors.
The load capacity of the LiuGong CLGVL 80A loader is 8 tons, and the volume of a standard bucket is 4.5 m³. The machine is equipped with a Cummins QSM6.7 diesel engine with a 162 hp capacity and a ZF box. The lifting height is 4.2 meters.
Here are some models of LiuGong wheel loaders:
- CLG816G is a small loader with a weight of 7.3 tons, a load capacity of 1.6 tons, and a dumping height of 2.7 meters.
- The CLG835H is a loader with a weight of 12.8 tons, a load capacity of 3.5 tons, and a dumping height of 3.1 meters. A 97 kW Cummins diesel engine powers it and has a hydrostatic transmission.
- The CLG856H is a larger loader with a weight of 17.5 tons, a lifting capacity of 5 tons, and a dumping height of 3.6 meters. It is also equipped with a Cummins diesel engine, but with a power of 162 kW, and has a hydromechanical transmission.
- CLG888 is a large loader with a weight of 25 tons, a lifting capacity of 8 tons, and a dumping height of 4 meters. It also has a 220 kW Cummins diesel engine and hydromechanical transmission.
- CLG992 is Liugong’s largest loader, with a weight of 51.5 tons, a load capacity of 9.2 tons, and a dumping height of 5.5 meters. It is equipped with a 447 kW Cummins diesel engine and has a hydromechanical transmission.
Each model has its characteristics and is designed for different tasks. Therefore, the model choice depends on the project requirements and working conditions.
