Detroit Diesel Series 53
Detroit Diesel series 53 two-stroke engines were presented in 1957. The index traditionally meant the working volume of one cylinder in cubic inches. The engine replaced the not very successful 51st series (produced from 1951 to 1959) and complemented the line of Detroit Diesel products in the compact, medium-sized diesel engines sector. It was available in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4-cylinder versions in the in-line layout, as well as 6, 8, and 12-cylinder at the V-shaped.
Traditionally, he could have a different layout of hinged units, mechanical vapor routes, turbo power option, and mechanical pumps for two-stroke Detroit Diesel engines.
Scope: highway trucks, construction equipment, diesel power plants, logging equipment, military equipment, and industrial installations of widespread use.
About 80,000 copies of Detroit Diesel 53 Series diesel engines are in use. In-line engines of the 53 series can develop and maintain power up to 400, which is very good for such small sizes.
Applicability: military equipment, diesel-generating plants, industrial use, transport, vessels, and boats.
