Coolant temperature
Fault:
FMI 0 High fluid temperature. Insufficient cooling of the moderator or movement on hilly terrain with frequent use of the moderator.
FMI 4 Shorting the signal wire in the temperature sensor circuit to ground.
FMI 5 Shorting the signal wire in the temperature sensor circuit to ground or to a higher voltage.
FMI 13 Faulty retarder control unit.

Parameter:
Coolant pressure
Fault:
FMI 0 The voltage on the retarder unit from the sensor is between 3.6 and 4.6 V. The sensor is defective, the moderator cooling circuit is damaged or blocked.
FMI 3 The voltage on the retarder unit from the sensor is higher than 4.6 V. Closure of the wiring in the sensor circuit to a higher voltage or the sensor is faulty.
FMI 4 The voltage on the retarder unit from the sensor is below 0.4 V. The wiring in the sensor circuit is faulty or the sensor is faulty.

Fault:
FMI 0 High oil temperature. Insufficient cooling of the moderator or movement on hilly terrain with frequent use of the moderator.

FMI 5 Shorting the signal wire in the temperature sensor circuit to ground or to a higher voltage.

Decelerator Power Supply Voltage
Fault:
FMI 0 The supply voltage is above 33 V. The generator is faulty or the device for fast charging of batteries is connected without disconnecting from the car.
FMI 1 The supply voltage is below 18 V for a few seconds after starting the engine. Low battery charge, poor contact on power cable or ground.

Valve PWM retarder
Fault:
FMI 3 A short circuit in the PWM valve circuit to a higher voltage or the PWM valve is faulty.
FMI 4 A short in the PWM valve circuit is shorted to ground or the PWM valve is faulty.
FMI 5 An open circuit in the PWM valve or a PWM valve is faulty.
FMI 6 A short in the PWM valve circuit is shorted to ground or the PWM valve is faulty.

Pressure sensor power supply
Fault:
FMI 1 The voltage is between 0.5 and 4.5 V. The wiring in the sensor circuit is faulty or the sensor is faulty.
FMI 3 Voltage is higher than 5.5 V. Short circuit of wires between the pressure sensor and the moderator control unit to a higher voltage.
FMI 4 Faulty retarder control unit.

Fault:
FMI 2 A large number of erroneous messages on the data channel. Breakage or partial damage to the data channel wires. Oxidized or damaged contacts in the connectors.

Fault:
FMI 2 Software Error. The retarder control unit is not programmed or programmed with errors.

Fault:
FMI 2 A large number of erroneous messages on the data channel. Breakage or partial damage to the data channel wires. Oxidized or damaged contacts in the connectors.
FMI 4 The retarder control unit cannot read the voltage change values. The closure of the data channel wires to ground.
FMI 9 Skipped a few messages on the data channel. The moderator control unit is in the process of programming, the data channel wiring is damaged or the contacts in the connectors are oxidized.

FMI 2 Software Error. Re-program the retarder control unit.

Air pressure
Fault:
FMI 0 The air pressure in the moderator is above 4.6 Bar . PWM valve defective.
FMI 3 High voltage in the circuit between the moderator unit and the pressure sensor. Shorting the signal or supply wire of the sensor to a higher voltage. The pressure sensor may be faulty.
FMI 5 An open in the sensor circuit or a short to ground in the sensor circuit.

Voltage +12 V. control unit (used to power the internal circuits of the control unit)
Fault:
FMI 0 The voltage is too high. Faulty wiring.
FMI 1 Voltage too low. Short to ground.
