Western Star is a commercial truck made in the United States by the Western Star company of the same name. Since the company’s founding in 1967, more than a dozen automobile models have been created, falling under the categories of 4700, 4800, 4900, 5700, and 6900.
Western Star was established in 1967 after S. E. Knudsen decided to start making trucks. He was able to build production swiftly and steer the new brand to success because of his prior expertise at Ford and General Motors. The business was taken under the wing of Volvo Truck in 1981, which had control over and helped the growth of the firm.
The business manufactured trucks throughout the course of the following nine years that were exclusive to the Volvo brand, distinguished by a high cab, cutting-edge technology, and a focus on comfort. Western Star Trucks happened to become an independent cell during the course of the activity, and T. Peabody, an Australian businessman, purchased it. He built the business over a period of ten years before selling it to Daimler.
