Aichi Background Information

Aichi Corporation is a Japanese lifting equipment manufacturer founded in 1962.

The company’s headquarters is located in Saitama, Japan. The company’s main specialization is the design and manufacture of lifting equipment. Company capitalization: ¥10,425,000,000. Total workforce: 1,232 (as of March 2009).

The company was founded under Aichi Sharyo Co., Ltd in 1962 in Nagoya and began manufacturing “A” type cranes. Then, within two years, the production of cars with a turning ladder and “digger derrick” structures, consisting simultaneously of a crane, tongs, a lifting tower, and a drilling rig, gained momentum.

In 1965-66, the production of cradle lifts was successfully developed.

In the 70s and 80s, the company expanded significantly: it built factories throughout the country and opened subsidiaries.

Aichi Training Center Co., Ltd. It was opened in 1991 and is still active today.

In 1992, the company was renamed AICHI CORPORATION, and in 1995 opened a subsidiary of AICHI Engineering Vehicles Co., Ltd. in China (Hangzhou city).

The production of electric hoists started in 1996, and a year later, AICHI CORPORATION factories began to produce machines with hoists for railway maintenance, mobile telescopic hoists, and heavy-duty platforms.

In 2002, a fusion of business and capital was founded between AICHI CORPORATION and TOYOTA (Look Toyota Forklift Manuals PDF) INDUSTRIES CORPORATION to produce multifunctional tractors.

In 2005, the company sold 150,000 vehicles, and in 2012 – 200,000 units.
